Set up row-level security so users see only their authorized data

Configures database policies so the database enforces who can read and modify each data row

When to use it

Your app stores data that is private to each user or team and must not be visible to others

Why it is worth it

RLS prevents data leaks even if your code has a bug, since the database always enforces access rules

The prompt

I am building a shared notes app. Tables: users (id, email), notes (id, user_id, title, content, is_shared), note_shares (note_id, shared_user_id). Set up row-level security policies so: Users can read and modify only their own notes where user_id equals their id. Users can read notes that are shared with them through note_shares, but cannot modify them. Users cannot read or modify notes they don't own. Test: When a user logs in, they see their own notes and notes shared with them, but not notes from other users. Show RLS policies on each table and verify in the security view.

Swap the notes app with your own and adjust table names and sharing rules for your app

What you get

Your database enforces that users only see data they own or others shared with them
