Enforce validation server-side to prevent bypassed security checks

Moves validation rules to server-side code so users cannot skip them even if they modify the browser

When to use it

You have a form where users should only enter certain types of values, but frontend checks are easy to bypass

Why it is worth it

Server-side validation works even when users bypass your frontend form or modify code in their browser

The prompt

I am building a savings goal tracker. Users create a goal with: name (required text), target amount (must be 100 to 1000000), deadline (must be a future date). Currently the React form has validation. Move validation to a server-side Edge Function. The function receives goal name, target amount, and deadline. It checks: name is not blank, amount is a number between 100 and 1000000, deadline is after today. If any check fails, return an error. If all pass, save to the database and return the saved goal. Show the validation still works when someone uses the browser console to bypass the form.

Swap the savings app with your own app and adjust validation rules for your data

What you get

Users cannot bypass your validation rules even if they modify the frontend code or use the browser console
