Make shared data update live for all users without refreshing

Built-in realtime instantly syncs data so when one user changes something, everyone else sees it immediately.

When to use it

You're building a team task board where multiple members are viewing and moving tasks at the same time.

Why it is worth it

Team members see changes instantly without refreshing, and never work with stale data or conflicting edits.

Before you start

  1. Build your task board with drag-and-drop columns for Backlog, In Progress, and Done

The prompt

Make the team task board update live. When one team member moves a task between columns, edits the task title, description, assignee, or due date, all other team members viewing the board see the change instantly without refreshing the page. Show a subtle presence indicator at the bottom of the screen in a small gray box listing who else is currently viewing the board, like 'Sarah and 2 others are viewing'. When a task is being edited by someone, subtly gray it out so others know not to edit it at the same time. After an edit is saved, briefly highlight the updated task with a soft yellow background for two seconds so everyone notices what changed.

Swap the task board for your shared data view and the editable fields to the columns your app uses.

What you get

Your task board now syncs instantly across all users with live updates and presence indicators.
